On 28th March, 1915, the 2nd Scottish Rifles battalion of 23 Brigade, 8th Division moved into the front line at Bois Grenier in France where they remained until relieved on 31st March. On 30th March, the day on which Charles Bowhey was killed, four men were killed when a shell landed in their dug out and another lost his life while on lookout. |
